As my '84 240 slumbers in the driveway, I've really been thinking it's time to get a car that's a little more up-to-par. This is hard. I love my 240, it has so much soul, It's a 2-door, and it did save my life once. It's lasted me almost two years with zero problems (other than me running it out of gas, and now it's dead) having spent less than $500, including purchase and oil changes. Now it needs sooo much work, AMM, Trailer arm bushings, paint, seatcovers, stereo...So I'm looking at 5-speed 850's. With a miniscule budget of $6k. I've have heard I ought to steer clear of the 93's...what for? What are the different models that come with a manual? Also, where's a cheap place to buy one? I'm in Seattle and volvos go for quite a hefty price. I know that 850's aren't as DIY friendly, and the parts network is smaller, but how much is maintaining/fixing one compared to a 240? Thanks a ton in advace for the replies! Jake Lunden
