1994 850T Question 850

The other day I got in car and started up.
The ABS and Generator light came on and the
car would not go into gear. Was not a pretty
sight. I turned off car then started up again.
Every thing seemed o.k.
I still hear the ABS self test most of the time
when I am listening for it.
The steering wheel shakes a little when I brake.
Any comments would be appreciated.
