I hope someone can help me. I need to find a real Volvo shop manual instructions on how to troubleshoot fuel gauge. I have some generic books, but they do not go that deep.

My fuel gauge is all messed up. Sometimes it is normal, sometime it shows "empty" with the warning light ON, sometimes it shows some level, but the light still comes up! I want to troubleshoot this, since the problem can be in the fuel sending unit, instrument cluster, wiring, etc. All parts are expensive in this chain.
