2000 S80 2.9 purchase advice please S80 2000

Hi all.
I have the opportunity to purchase a 2000 S80 2.9 with 63k. Currently I own a 740 wagon with 125k, and would like to upgrade to a more comfortable ride.

I heard that there was an issue regarding the transmission of the S80, is it confined to the 1999 M.Y.?
Are there any other things to look for? Is the 2.9 engine a V or inline six?
What's a reasonable price to pay?
