Yes Brickboard brethren.... that monster has been slayed and lies at the porch floor now!!
I put up a fierce fight on sat and at about 2:30 p.m, I reached out and pulled the Aluminum evaporator from the housing with all the gunky, debris of sorts within that had accumulated in the years. I don't quite have cold AC in yet- still need to tighten the supply-drier lines- but thats now downhill.
Unfortunately I forgot my camera and couldnt take pics of the final removal section and there was no way I was going to patch it up just to get the camera. One thing I found was that the evap in the climate housing removal wasn't too hard granted you take it out first. This is what the designers had in mind. Trying to remove the evap with the dash intact is what caused frustration, but once I figured the other way, it was just patience and yeah I am happy as can be!! woohoo!
Thanks to all who helped me..its been months just find the right TORX tool and planning the job. But I saved about a $1000 and more learned with the process.
