Clank noise from the back 850 1994

Every time I go over a bump at slow speed I hear a clank from the back passenger side. I got it checked out and were told the shocks and springs are fine. Recently I have passengers at the back and noticed the back went down considerably. Is it the spring or the shocks??? if it is the spring should I put the rubber inserts to stiffen them up???
