The door lock actuator on the hatchback of my 850 wagon has been giving me intermittent trouble. Sometimes I can activate the trunk door via the remote and/or the driver's side key, other times it doesn't respond.

I took the actuator out and discovered the plastic case had come apart. It just clips together, not very sturdy construction. I drilled some holes and bolted it together, and it worked for a while. Then it started intermittently failing again. I suspect the problem lies with the power leads to the actuator motor: they're not firmly attached to the motor - they're just coppper tabs that slide into slots in the motor, and I think they get jiggled loose after repeated slaming of the door. I've tried bending them a bit to make them fit more tightly, but the problem always recurs.

I'd like to just replace the actuator, but the dealer only sells them as a unit along with the door lock mechanism. Seems crazy to pay for the whole door lock when I only need the actuator. Questions:

1. Anyone know where I can buy just the actuator?
2. Is the trunk actuator the same design as the door actuators? (If so I could buy just the door actuator.)
3. Anyone know how I can fix the existing actuator permanently?
