Of all the Volvos I've owned and still own, none have been FWD. So I'm thinking about my first.
Someone nearby has a '94 850 wagon GLT, A/T, sunroof, new tires, exterior and interior (black leather) said to be in good shape. I have NOT yet seen or driven the car, only talked to the owner on the phone. All service records provided. No CD player.
155k miles. I was told that the engine was replaced by an independent shop because of "leaks," but have no further information. The current owner is very naive about cars in general and his car in particular.
$3000.
What weaknesses should I be looking for?
(Paul S. suggested the tailgate plastic, AC, smog pump, tranny, and HVAC controls.)
Picture below.

TIA.
