Bilstein Alternative 850

I have a '95 850 with Bilsteins and just recently I added 17" rims. Wow, it is one stiff ride. I love the handling but the roads in NE Ohio are pretty bad right now with no plans of them improving. I need to do something and for the kind of driving I do mostly, the Bilsteins may be a bit overkill.

If go to a Koni or Boge shock will my ride become a bit smoother? Which ones should I switch to?
