I have seen this same problem posted before, but I have not seen the resolution....if one exists. I have a 94 855T that I overfilled the gas tank a few weeks ago. when that happened the car would hardly start and wouldn't accelerate. As the fuel went down it ran better. It has not been as bad as that day, but every time I fill it up I get this hesitation that is driving me nuts. I have replaced all the usuals: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, and checked for vacume leaks.
This problem has to either be the fuel pump itself or something with the venting in the tank as it only happens when the gas tank is full. If there is only a quarter tank the car runs perfectly fine. So that rules out vacuum leaks, ignition, and the conveter. Something is limiting fuel pressure when the tank is full. Of course when it is not under load the fuel pressure is fine.
Any thoughts? I am going to take a look at the filler neck and see if there is anything that is obviously wrong with the venting system however, I don't know what I am looking for.
thanks for any help.
