Help transmission is messed 850 1993

ok i am 16 i got this car from my sister it's a 1993 volvo 850 GLT it's tranmission light is on the DTC codes says it's speedometer signal is missing. this makes no sense. the car refueses to accerlate till you slam down on the gas and then it just peels wheel there is no inbetween it's you drift forward at like 1 mph or it puts you in your seat. i don't understand at all what's going on it seems to be compounded with heat and it works perfect in reverse.
