850 coolant leak 850 1988

I have a 1995 850 Turbo wagon with 113K. I’ve had to refill the coolant reservoir about five times over the past year (when the dash light comes on). I have no obvious sign of an external or internal leak.

I have noticed that when the heater is turned on, I get a faint smell of coolant for about 30 seconds, and then it disappears. Based on the smell, I would assume there is a leak someplace in the firewall area, but I don’t know where to start looking.

I’ve looked under the dash with a flashlight, but I don’t see any obvious leaks. Does anyone have an idea of where I should start? Thanks in advance.
