interior fan stopped again 850 1994

Climate control red lights flash not when I start the car, but when I set the fan speed to AUTO.
I can feel that the AC is cooling; the problem is the fan.

I had this problem last week; checked the codes and they said both the driver & passenger temp. sensors weren't working and the fan was seized/not working (4-1-1, 4-1-4, 4-1-7). I vacuumed the sensor holes (behind the interior handles). Then I pulled out the fan and found it was indeed seized because it was gunked up with bugs and stuff; I cleaned it, slathered it with WD-40, and put it back. Turned the ignition and it worked! Then I reset the diagnostic to 1-1-1.

Now a day or so later it stopped working again. I get the flashing lights and the same codes again.

Seems like I might have a bad control part -- but what to do about it?
