My used 1998 S70 non-turbo (160,000 km = 100,000 mi) has a crack in the outer wall of the water jacket. The dealer thought it was a bad water pump and replaced it only to later discover the real reason for the leaking. The dealer's solution is a new engine !! Anyone else experience this kind of crack ? Any suggestions to fix it ? I've heard such things as using epoxy, or aluminum welding (may have to remove the engine to do this). I put a leak-stop product in the coolant and it stopped for a few months, but is now leaking again. Thanx.
