Another newbie question S60

Are there any lemon years for S60? We are considering buying one (used or new, not sure yet), but don't know where to look for guidance. The salesman just tricked a family member into siging a contract and I wasn't there. My threat to the dealer's owner canceled it quickly though. Just looking to get it all together before we go to the dealerships. We want a plain vanilla non-turbo; Auto trans; Lthr. Int; Sun/Moonroof; nice Alloys. Kind of a luxury S60. But perhaps the S60 is a bad choice and the S40 is a better one? We liked the S80 but the mandated turbo was a turn off. Not sure about certain options though. I left the text from Volvo intact for the most part: PLEASE HELP.

How does the car differ with 15" standard wheels versus the 16" larger ones?... Sport Package for 2.4, $795 This package includes: Front Fogs Lights; 6.5 x 16" URSA Alloy Wheels with 215/55/HR16 Tires. (Btw, we like the Tethys wheels but they are n/a for the 2.4 model)

Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) $700.00 ... ??? I can see this as actually dangerous for certain female drivers in our household that habitually panic - mmmm (clearing throat and rolling eyes upward). Is this needed for FWD cars because of inherent FWD problems?

Volvo Navigation System with DVD Map Data and Remote Control $2,120 - What the heck for ???

Touring Package - $595 This package includes - Why any of this?

Auto-Dim Rearview Mirror (standard feature in T5) - Dont know if this is good or troublesome. Seems like the best feature of this package. What about people with eyesight problems?
Grocery Bag Holder - Yeah right!
Homelink Remote Garage Door Opener - ??? We dont live in the city!
Interior Air Quality System (IAQS) - Dont know if this is good or troublesome?
Laminated Side Windows - Dont know if this is good or troublesome?

Climate Package - $625 - This package includes:

Headlamp Washers - Why?
Heated Front Seats - Always had this in all our previous Volvos. So, how to get this feature by itself ?
Rainsensor - Dont know if this is good or troublesome?
