Rear Brake Caliber removal / Parking brake cable detachment S40-V40

Help, I can't remove the rear caliber as the parking brake cable is too short. It looks like I need to detach it, but there's not enough play in the cable. I don't want to screw up the caliber & am just trying to replace the pads. Thanks in advance for any help.
