Need purchase advice on AWD volvo models V70-XC70

Hi, all.

I've had Volvos since 1973 (with a 164), but all (but that first) have been 240's, and I've never paid attention to other models -- until now, I'm afraid. I need your advice on what AWD (albeit used) car to search for.

My old, small 4WD truck just died, and I don't want to get another truck -- I want to get an AWD Volvo car instead this time. I used the 4WD truck for only one thing -- to pull my boat+trailer (~3,500 lbs total), launching and (harder) recovering it at launch ramps. That's why I need AWD -- slippery ramps (wet and sometimes covered with slime) make it difficult to use my RWD 240's because the drive wheels are at the most slippery place on the ramp, and a FWD just doesn't do it because the tongue weight unloads the front drive wheels and they spin as badly as a 240's rear wheels on water-edge slime. I've seen this too often on other's FWD cars to chance buying a FWD myself.

AWD is just the thing (closest to my truck's 4WD). So my questions to all of you are theses:
1) Which volvo models combine both AWD and a towing capacity of at least 3,500 lbs.?
2) Are there any model years in which such cars had "problems" (e.g., 'bad' 4WD system) and should be avoided?

I need to find a replacement fast, as I don't want to lose the rest of this otherwise great boating season this year.

In advance, thanks all for your help.
