ABS Light 850 1996

My ABS light has been coming on intermittently. When it does, I have no directionals and the speedometer does not work. I turn the car off, wait a minute or 2 and things are back to normal. I recently had the rotors and brakes done. Do't you think they would have noticed possibly? Would it be wise to replace the sensor or could it be something else near the wheels?
