Hi,
I could use your help. I need a diagram or close-up digital pic of the S80 T6 engine room between air filter box & headlight. (I need to confirm what should be there and the pictures I could download from the net are too shadowy.) I took my '99 S80 T6 into the dealer after some intermittent lights came on and it was due for some routine maintenance.
It was running pretty well and I wanted to keep it that way. On vacation from work, I had an appointment and dropped off my S80 early on Thursday morning and after being in the shop for two days. The service rep told me I could pick it up Saturday morning. After waiting in line and paying my bill ("ka-ching!" $2100!) on Sat morning, I was then told that the tech needed a couple more hours to work on the car. I felt that it was better that the job get done right, so I left the car and returned later in the afternoon, after the service dept. closed. I was delighted to get my car keys from the salesperson, and I decided to give the engine room a once over before I left the lot... I was very dismayed to find that some of the metal screw bolts around the engine room (that hold plastic parts in place) are missing although the washers were left sitting there. Also, there seems to be a black metal bracket missing between the air filter case and the headlight back because of a cleanly exposed screw (bolt?) hole. (There is such a bracket on my loaner S80.) I will have to be at the Volvo dealer again on Monday morning between 7 and 7:30 to rectify this.
Thanks for your help and sorry to vent. I didn't anticipate that it would be necessary to digitally photograph the engine room before I took the car in for servicing to prevent items from going AWOL. I don't think the service person was deliberate - just sloppy. But, it sure irks me when I pay for preventive maintenance big and small (including replacing rivets on mud flaps that came out). And, the vehicle comes out looking like a lunchy used car instead of my pride and joy...
