Tire suggestion for Volvo 850 Turbo 1996? 850

I am purchasing this car and it needs tires, can you give me a suggestion for tires. I am looking for a nice ride like the rest of the world. The car will be driven in So California for the most part. I have tried to weed thru what I found on the internet but got too many opinions.

i am guessing those that read here are a bit more knowledgable than the general tire bulletin board I found!
