Just purchased an '00 S80 T-6 with 16,900 miles by private party. (Please, no 'run as fast as you can' replies; Previous car was a '98 S70 GLT that was no Camry, either). I bought it from the original owner, who took delivery in October of 2000. It was manufactured late in the model year, so I'm hoping for the best. It's a beautiful car, loaded with every available option except NAV, so I consider this car well-bought at $19,500. I'm shopping 7r/100K VIP warranties, and am leaning toward the $100 deductible quoted at $2,015 by the dealer who sold and serviced it since new. Zero deductible is $760 more, and I just can't justify it. Though I'm aware of the issues that can plague this car, I would need seven additional warranty claims in excess of $100 just to recoup the additional cost of the zero plan. Opinions? I need to buy this warranty by September 2.
