Hi everybody,
I've got V70 T5/auto '01 38Kmiles with standard warranty that will
expire in 3/2005.
The car was ok quality-wise during first 3,5 yrs of its life except
for standard illnesses like transmission glitches and
bushings/tie rod end links.
I plan to keep it for at least 4 at most 6 more years (until ~85-100 Kmiles).
However I'm a) not sure about when it will start falling apart;
b) the dealers around me (Northern VA) are _very_ expensve if you ask me; and
c) I'm handy to the extent of rotating tires, ;-) but not going to change
oil myself.
So, I looked at extended warranty programs. Volvo VIP for
4 years(from now)/100K miles was priced for me by dealer
at ~$2500 which sounds "rip-off" to me.
Could you please share the following opininons of yours with me:
1) Does it worth it to buy extended warranty of any kind ?
2) What's the price you guys paid/would have paid for extended warranty ?
Thanks,
Andrey M
