strut picture - what's wrong ? 850

I installed Bilstein Tourings today on both sides. I took them apart one at a time and put the parts in the order in which they came out. I don't remember the gap that you see in the picture but maybe it's normal. Car drives fine - no noise. What did I do wrong if anything ? It just doesn't look right. Any ideas ? Should I just leave it alone ?
