T5 Tire Upgrade-235/50/16 ? V70-XC70 2001

If 235/45/17 is stock
and 235/40/18 is an option,
why not 235/50/16?
They all spec-out about the same
in regards to overall diameter, etc.
Any one see any problems with the 235 on
a 7" rim when its coming out at 7.5", though
the range for that tire size is 6.5"-8.5" ?
I'm ready to move on from my 215/55/16's but
don't want to throw down on the wheel upgrade.
