Touring Tire vs: Grand Touring? V70-XC70 1999

Have seen past postings on tire opinions. I have a non turbo, thus I am an average driver. First, I like a smooth and quiet ride, then a toss up between good handling and tread wear. My question is this: Is my best option to remain with Grand Touring tires or would I sacrifice much by going to a Touring type? What tire is best for this car and why? Thanks in advance.
