98 v70 alpine cd changer V70-XC70

6 disc alpine cd changer refuses to play or eject.code on radio says eeee. anyone have any ideas on a fix??? . i am pretty sure it is connected properly as it worked fine before...i tried to look in archives but could find nothing.the stereo store says buy a new one..gee, that's a surprise huh?
