Ok, so I called Volvo North America and asked if they knew or would consider any action on the Volvo S80 tranny problems (1.800.458.1552). The rep told me that they monitor sites such as this one to gauge problems with the vehicles. Also that the "software upgrades" (which were done on my car) were supposed to solve the shudder problem...Someone must be sleeping at the wheel to not notice all the problems posted w/S80 transmissions! I was told my problem would be referred to an engineer, if you haven't already, PLEASE harass them as well, something needs to be done instead of having the consumer take on the brunt of maintaining a substandard product!
