Front wheel ball bearing S70

Developed whinning noise when driving 1998 S70 T5 from 80km/hr up and its get worse starting from about 2 weeks ago. Had about 100k kilometers on the car. Took it to the dealer, said its the front left wheel ball bearing needed to be change, does it make sense? Thanks a million!
