How well does it do on steep driveway in winter? 850

The winter isn't here yet, but I have to start thinking about it.
Recently moved to a house that has a long, steep driveway - ~270 feet long,
vertical drop ~60 feet. A bit of curve to it, and most of it is exposed, level with the grass on either side.

Decided to hire a plow for the winter, but the question still remains, since there is no guarantee that the driveway will be all plowed when we want.

My 855t (w/ ABS & TRAC, 4 snow tires for winter) did fairly well in different amount of snow last winter, but haven't really had a chance or need to go on hills. I'm wondering if I need an AWD, maybe to replace the 855t, or replace the other FWD car (no ABS or traction control on that one).

Can anyone comment on how well the car does on the snow covered hills? My neighbor with an even longer driveway ended up getting an SUV, but he had RWD cars before that. Should I think about getting an AWD (I'd probably get an AWD minivan at this point). I know that this is very subjective, but I'd like to hear about others' experience.
