Flame trap - broken hose 850 1997

Changed the flame trap on my '97 850 NA today. There are two hoses going into the flame trap housing. The smaller diameter hose is broken and deteriorated in general.
Can anyone tell me where I can get a replacement hose?
What do I have to do to reach the other end of the hose - what does it connect to?
What's the difference between the small and the large hose?
