Fuel gauge acting up or truly getting bad gas mileage 850 1995

i have noticed that my fuel gauge on 95 850 turbo to be fluctuating more than usual on my normal work trip..I have seen the gauge drop almost more than 1/4 of a tank nowadays where as before it usually used to drop about 1/8 or even less. Is this a regular problem that might come up at 115000 miles.

what part would be effecting the fluctuating of the gas gauge .
