I have a 1997 850 Volvo wagon with 50000 miles. I have a problem which occurs only when the weather is extremely humid. I am able to start the car and drive without any problem, but as soon as I stop, either on a red light or for some reason slow down, the engine starts to stutter and turns off. After that I have a hard time starting the engine. Once I even felt a strong smell coming from the front of the car. Once the engine starts running again, the problem is gone. The "Check Engine" light turns on, but disappears after one or two days. As soon as the weather condition changes, in other words it is no longer humid, the car runs fine. Would somebody know what the reason for that could be. Thank you.
