drumming sound? V70-XC70 1999

99 V70 XC 112K

Over slight road imperfections at reasonably low speed (15-30mph) I hear drumming sound or thumpity thump thump outside the car either under the driver's side or, more likely, in the driver's front wheel well area. When going faster sound is not heard, over bigger bumps such as pot holes and such, the sound is not heard. I have looked under the car and see nothing loose or worn that might appear to be the casue. Does anyone have any suggestions on what this might be? All input will be much appreciated.
