No codes but car defintely acting up..can someone please help.. 850 1995

I am not getting codes from under the hood but my car defintely is acting up..i have been driving this sine new for 9 years and now seems the engine is racing at a higher rpm than usual and using up a lot more gas.

is there times when parts fail and no codes show up in the car.????.
I was thinking of replacing the Throttle position sensor but i am not sure what parts to remove to get to it..can someone tell me what other parts have to be removed in order to get to the TPS..and are there any precautions to take to replace the tps..

and how long does it usually take..
