newbie/car won't start 850

Hello all I just purchased an 850glt has been sitting a while. Tried to start it and wont run. It turns over but seems to be a fuel problem although fuel pump is pumping. I sprayed starting fluid into it and it started right up then died. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated thanks.
