S80 hesitates at 2000 rpm

My 2000 S80 2.9 (non-turbo) hesitates when driving on a smooth flat road at 50-55mph. I noticed that it does it only when acceleration is steady at 2000 rpm. If I go over, it works fine, and also if I go lower. The car idles very smooth. I changed spark plugs (platinum), new oil/filter and injector cleaner last weekend trying to resolve the problem but still continues.

Less than six months ago, the car left me stranded on the road when it would not accelerate at all when pressing the pedal. I towed to the dealer and they cleaned the throtle assembly and the problem went away.

Should I suspect the throttle again? If that is the case, can I clean/service that myself as DIY? Do I need to reprogram anything after cleaning the throttle assembly?

If not the throttle, any other suggestions to look at? Nearest Volvo dealer is 40 miles away and very inconvenient to take the car over there.
