Defective Clock Radio V70-XC70 1999

Hello,

I have a 1999 XC with nearly 60K on the odemeter. I have the original time and temperature display unit in the car. Recently, I've noticed the clock on it own, re-sets to "12:00". The temperature setting (F) doesn't change. I re-set the clock, and a day or two later, it re-sets to "12:00". As I drive along, the time advances to "12:01, etc". Sometimes, I'll drive several hours before I'll notice the clock has re-set itself. By that time, the time maybe "3:23".

There is no pattern to the clock re-setting itself. It can happen in the middle of the day. Or it might happen in the morning.

Is this a problem that will require I replace the clock unit? Or is this a "software" problem? Has anyone else had similar experiences? Thanks to all who reply.
