Brake light warning lamp blinks on when braking S70 1998

Does anyone know the solution to this puzzler?

Brake warning light (in dash cluster) flashes on when the brake pedal is pressed. Doesn't happen all the time, a few times in every local road trip.

Have changed out both brake lamps. Is this the brake switch located over the brake pedal, or is it a ground problem?

Can anyone suggest the fix?
