Some may remember a series of posts a couple of weeks ago about my driver's seat where the heat stopped flowing. Fault tracing showed it to be the bottom cushion heat pad. I've since purchased a new pad and now have the seat removed.
Upon removing the bottom cushion fabric cover I find the old heating pad has literally burned a hole through itself and into the foam! This is rather troublesome to say the least.
So does this indicate the thermostat is not cycling off and allowing the pad to get too much current? How does one test the t-stat to ensure it's doing its job?
Do I recall correctly that the 1997 850 had a recall for seat fire problem that involved putting a relay in the circuit?
Ideas welcome....
thx
