2000 S40 code P0128 - coolant thermostat (coolant temp too low)

I have a 2000 S40. I have been getting a check engine light due to code P0128 which is coolant termostant (coolant temperature below thermostat ability to regulate). The temperature guge indicates that the temp is fine.

Any suggestions on the cause of the code. A bad sensor, which one and where.

My wife traded in my 1993 945 turbo for this car as a Christmas present so I would have a newer car to drive to work - I don;t want to tell her I need to take it to the dealer only four days after I got it.\

Thanks in advance for your help.
