I just got the oil changed in my 1998 V70 XC (95,000 miles) at an indie shop. When I got it back, I checked the oil (I always do), and noticed that the coolant level in the plastic coolant overflow/expnansion tank was almost to the very top. Since it wasn't that high before the service (I always check it when the hood is open, and the plastic tank is usually about half full), I called the shop. They said that they topped the fluids off, and acknowledged that the expansion tank was filled, probably to the top.
My question is: is there any problem associated with having the expansion tank full to the brim? It seems that there is nowhere else to go if the fluid heats up and expands. Won't it blow some hoses or something else bad?
TIA.
