1998 u.k spec xc .awd. lumpy and hesitant engine ' V70-XC70

Hello all,
I am new to the brickboard but i have read a number of articles with keen interest,it seems that the very problem i have with my 98 v70 many of you have experienced and solved a long time ago.The problem i have with my car is explained perfectly by an artical on the brickboard regarding skip&dip hesitation. My car is a 1998 U.K. spec cross country A.W.D with 78,0000 miles on the clock. It seems i am not alone with this constant anoying lumpy ,jolting ,and lack of power at light throttle.I have approached my local Volvo dealer armed with a printed copy of the artickle that many of you in the states anyway, have sorted by downloading a software upgrade into the Motronic 4.4 E.C.U via the diagnostics port on the car, great i thought. But i am getting nowhere with my local dealership. They have had the car a couple of times now and on the last visit armed with all this new info from the brickboard they told me that the information that i had given them was not relavant to me as my car was a uk spec and the info was all regarding U.S spec cars.Is there any body out there that can asure me that what appears to be an acknoledgment by Volvo that the problem exists due to the existance of the service bulletin T.S.B No (2220003)and the fact that many people have recieved the new upgrade via their volvo dealers that i too can sort this out as it is sending me nuts.Needles to say i have spent a small fortune on genuine volvo parts trying to sort this out.the following have all been replaced: Plugs,Leads,Distributer cap,Rotor arm,Fuel filter,Injectors cleaned, new Mass air flow meter,New throttle posistion sensor,Cleaned out the throttle body,......and so on.Any help on this matter would be greatfully recieved.

Many thanks Marcus
