My girlfriend just picked up a 97' 850 GLT with 83,000 miles on it. I notice while driving in it, the shift to 2nd and 3rd was not as smooth as I think it should be. So being the nice guy I am, I attempted a tranny flush today. After flushing it I moved the catchin' pan and noticed how light it felt. Sure no 8 quarts in it. SO my question is where is the other 4 quarts? Would it help if the car was jacked up more on the front, allowing more fluid to come out? I wouldn't think to have 4 qts. in my lines either. Does anyone know which tranny this car has? Sorry to drown you in a million questions but would hate to damage girlfriends new car.
P.S. I put back in 4 qts. of synthetic ATF, is it bad to mix syn./non.syn.
