Been reading what's already on here regarding stiff power steering, and I'm hoping that someone can put this all together for me.
For the past couple of years, the steering's become generally stiffer and stiffer over time, but it's finally reached the point where I can't turn it from a parking space without rolling forward or back. After a few minutes of driving, it's closer to normal, but it's still a lot stiffer than it once was, and definitely stiffer than it should be.
I think Jiffy Lube added some cheap PS fluid last time I was there, and now there's a pretty good head of bubbles on the top (I don't know exactly what this means, but from what I've read here, it doesn't sound good). I'm intrigued by the turkey-baster flush method of emptying the reservoir a few times and refilling with Mobil 1 ATF. Is this worth a shot? Does anyone have any other low-cost suggestions before I have to sacrifice my tax refund to some garage?
