bad fuel pump, fuel pump relay or fuel regulator? S70 1998

My car would slowly stall and die after a few minutes of use. You can immediately restart the engine and hear the engine turn but it would not run. After a period of none use, it would run for a few minutes and the engine would later stall again. I replaced the fuel filter 10k miles ago. The car is a 98 S70 non turbo and has 104k miles on it. I suspect it is a fuel delivery problem. I'm not sure if it is the fuel pump relay, fuel regulator or the fuel pump itself. Chilton book tells you how to replace but does not indicate which symtoms of failure for each part. I don't want to replace all parts unless I have to. Thank you in advance for any assistance. Elbert
