Sudden bearing noise

I have a 95 T5 auto with 150K. Yesterday (after NJ temp went from 38 in the am to 70 at 2pm) I got a "bearing" noise at idle. As I drove up to 20mph, the noise seemed to remain the same pitch (I expected it to increase in frequency). I opened the hood and it *seemed* to be coming from the accessory belt area. Just as I became concerned, it went away. Drove 60 mi last night - no problem. I looked at the records - serpentine and timing belt replaced 10/04 at 136K. Water pump (my first thought) at 96K. Don't see where any tensioners ever replaced. Any thoughts from you experts? As I said I was becoming quite concerned - especially when I learned that the water pump is driven from the TB(!) and a seize can take out your drive train. Now I feel better about the WP but would still like to know what may have caused this. TIA Don
