hello, i am the new owner of a 94 turbo wagon. i believe that makes it an 855 ?
I bought the car via ebay and picked-up locally.
The car has 126k with dealer 'stamps' at approx. 10k miles up through 120k, although there are no additional maint. records. It looks as though the owner changed during the period, as the 'listed' name on the stamp sheet' was a sticker applied over the orig. named info. There was a 20k period where there were no stamps.
Overall i'm very pleased with the vehicle. It is tight/solid, has plenty of power and feels good to drive. It does seem to have a preference to 'feel' the bumps in the road.
I will be looking more closely at the posts regarding the suspension and all of the bushings etc. that integrate with it.
There is a bit of oil under/on the car toward the rear engine and i will be investigating that as well via info on these posts.
Timing belt replaced at 70k
I have found 'sand' in a couple areas, seats, near battery. The car was registered/maintained in the Philadelphia area. Some of the corrosion seems to indicate a 'saltwater' environment, but i may be applying the found sand to what i am seeing.
The carpeting, floors/doors, is an odd shade of pinkish/beige. It appears that they may have been removed and possibly 'cleaned' to a point of discoloration.
There were two 'new car' 'evergreen' freshners hanging, boy are they nasty ! There seems to be a 'musty' smell. Will be able to better determine after the evergreen wears away.
Carfax/Autofax shows 'clean' as for major stuff.
the 'up arrow' (forget what it's called) light lit once (PNP ?). Stayed lit until i restarted.
The transmission does have a slight bit of 'something' ? when going from reverse to drive etc.. Not really a bang or thunk, but it does seem to have something ?
Onto my questions:
- early / late model 1994 ? i've seen reference to this for repair parts, how can i determine ?
- there is a device that appears to regulates vaccum near the battery, electriconicly controlled, with a hose leading to the manifold. The regulation pulses at about 2 per second. Does not always operate. Short stubby 1" hose opened to the bottom. Any help identifying this ?
- another identify device. (tried to upload pic) On the firewall heat shield, near hood, a round circular device, electronic controlled. The front half is MISSING. I have Haynes, however cannot identify it ?
and, computer codes. i believe that it is a montronic 4.3, but i'm abit confused here.
here's what i have:
A1 - 111
A2 - 111
A3 - 214 , 213, 141
A5 - n/c
A6 - no results displayed
A7 - 113 , 122
B1 - 414
B2 - 122
B5 - 111
results i found for codes:
214 - erratic ignition RPM signal
213 - throttle switch signal (wide-open ) ?
141 - unable to locate any info ???
113 - heated oxygen sensor (max. enrichment sensed)
122 - air temp. sensor signal
414 - turbo boost regulation
i've attempted to 'clear' the codes, however the process, for whichever system i have, seems to not do the clearing.
I'm hoping that as i figure exactly what i have here, i will be able to better evaluate things.
Anyway, i would be happy knowing what the 141 code indicates ? The others seem pretty much the same regardless which ECM is utilized.
Thanks for any help !
jack
