Hi all,
Replaced 1/2 my burnt out lights in instrument cluster last weekend and all the lights work great..but now the trip odom isn't spinning. Right before I did the replacement I thought I noticed the counter going slow. Everything else works, trip computer( including the function that counts mpg), speedometer, turbo gauge, rpm. Looked around the board and read that it might be a gear in the little unit within the instrument cluster. It was a little rough getting out and it got bumped around. Don't wanna pay the $30-$50 for the gear unless I have to.
What actually runs the odometer? Is it all mechanical and thus guarenteed the gear? Do I need to search around for some electrical prob?
Why does IPD sell only one gear in the kit but odometergears.com offers a 12 tooth and a 15 tooth? If both of my counters stopped do I need both?
Got a OBD code about instrument prob. I'd almost guarentee that I hooked up both green connectors at top and the smaller one that hooked up in the middle of the back of the instrument cluster when reinstalling.
Thanks
