I have an '01 S40 with the standard CD player/cassette/AM/FM.
The first CD player skipped quite frequently....most often upon
hitting a bump, but also sometimes when hitting a hole.
After several friends told me that their various cars did NOT hardly
ever skip, I called the dealer.
They agreed it shouldn't happen.
They replaced the radio.
The new one still skips profusely.
Today, I made a trip of about 8-10 miles over normal (i.e. decent city roads)
and the CD player skipped 7...COUNT 'EM SEVEN TIMES!!
And YES! I used several different CDs...so it's not the media.
And YES...these are original CDs....not copies.
Also, it will sometimes....again, I say SOMETIMES play the new Bruce
Springsteen double-sided CD.....but most often it rejects it.
Seems like it'll play it when the temps are warmer.....but not, for example,
first thing in the morning when it's chilly.

Anybody ever experience/hear of anything like this?
