70 Series manual trans oil spec V70-XC70

Volvo brand synthetic manual transmission oil ($15/quart) container makes no reference to any lubrication spec, European or domestic. Does anyone know if there is a commonly available North American manual transmission oil that matches the unknown spec of the Volvo oil? A few minutes ago I looked at a Saab site that referred to cases of manual transmission failure following a changeover to Redline MTL, a prospect that is both disappointing and frightening. This change is not critical, so I'll delay it until I have reason to believe I'm doing it right.
